Childhood
Sherry and I were talking about the houses that I grew up in. As you may or may not know I have found that my memory of childhood has been hard to recall. Not sure if I have blocked it out or too much drinking in college has killed too many brain cells… but it is a rare treasure when I can remember things.
This morning we were talking about Londonberry Road. Anyone remember the address? Or the other house we use to live in… the one with the jackass next door neighbors and the driveway I use to crash into the garage on my green machine with? I was talking this morning about the boys in the neighborhood that I think were brothers that taught me how to flick the bird and some other skills that were used to get me in lots of trouble when I would go home and show Mom what I learned.
Didn’t they also try to burn down our house once? Any details you guys can share on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Just use the comment link below to add details.

So Cruel… it’s almost funny
Apparently… the Moroccan government is trying to support the US Army by providing monkeys that are trained to blow up land mines. My question is how do you train a monkey to do that?
The new John Ira Tureman
This is Shawn and Regina’s 3 week old son that Sherry and I are going to visit this weekend in Houston, he is pretty damn cute, don’t ya think?

Celebration of days
I went looking for a days alive calculator today… and found an interesting poem I felt like putting up here…
We can count up to ten, we can count to a hundred
and these are two numbers that we understand
And we can take one, multiply by the other,
and in this way get ourselves up to a grand
But much more than that and it starts to lose meaning
the mind just can’t feel the big numbers it knows
I guess it’s just that we get too far away from
our trusty friend old Mister Fingers and Toes
And so we use years when we count up our birthdays
but then there’s the problem of having so few
and really it’s days we have, that’s what we’re spending
and every day we get one brand spanking new
So don’t let too many days spin off uncounted
This year thing is nonsense, a terrible trap
We hope that each one of your days will be happy
except that there’s bound to be some filled with crap
from The Amazing Days Alive Calculator results page.
(I had trouble getting it to work, and had to reload it several times to get the results or to even show up)
Booty Call
Thanks to Walzer for enlightening me on the science of the lost art of Booty Calling. Hope you are having fun back in college Wiggidy. Looks like you are not letting the “trees get in the way of the forest” your second time around.
Heart update
I talked to the doctor yesterday and he said everything was fine. I had an EKG done and it didn’t show anything except for a sinus arrhythmia, which is not a big deal. Similar to the fingerprint of the heart, everyone one has different characteristics.
He said I do not have heart disease, and as long as the “flub flub” that I have been feeling when I lay down is only during resting periods that it is ok… it would be much more troubleing if it happend while playing soccer or running. He said I could stand to lose a few pounds (who can’t), but I plan on trying even harder, I am down 10 pounds since the beginning of the year.
He also stated that I am not doing anything wrong, and that staying away from cigarettes is important.
Just Another Day
Everything went great last night. Had 9 people at Sherry’s birthday celebration. She racked up. I never get that many presents. But anyway… several people said it looked like a pottery barn advertisement, which it basically was, since we hadn’t really had a chance to use all of our stuff since the wedding. Bells was well behaved and only two people had to leave because of cat allergies. Who know so many people were allergic!??!
Happy Birthday
Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to my lovely wife and my wonderful mother. (Kinda weird that they have the same birthday, and I am sure that Freud could have a field day with it, but I don’t like to get into that). Mom and Don just got back from a pilgrimage out west with their good friends. Sherry and I hope to take a trip with them soon. Funny how things change, in high school, those thoughts would never have entered my mind. But now I find myself missing family and wanting to spend more and more time with them.
We are going to have some friends over for dinner tonight to celebrate Sherry’s birth a quarter century ago.
Nevermind
Looks like poor planning and lack of technology has bitten us in the ass. Since I wasn’t able to confirm our plans to go to the river house until last night at 11 pm none of the friends can make it. I should have just been confident that it was going to happen in the first place, and not been so wishy-washy. So we are going to the mall instead, it is what girls and gay boys want anyway.
